Why the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia after being demolished next hockey seasona I heard the Wachovia Center was demolished, but I have not heard that. It is still a relatively new area and compares favorably with other areas.
Yeah, that's the spectrum. Basically Comcast Spectacor, which owns the Flyers and Sixers and operates the center of the spectrum and has decided to reorganize the Philadelphia sports complex area. They will demolish the old Spectrum and build a space flashy new stores and restaurants. It will be really great because it was never anywhere to park your car and eat without moving again before going to a game in Philadelphia. This new open-air shopping center will affect pre-game for all teams in Philadelphia, because they all play the same zone complexes. First smart move by the city of Philadelphia in a long time. I will attach the specifications on the construction.
The Flyers left the Wachovia Spectrum about 10 years. The Soul AFL playing there and the KIXX MISL and NLL Wings. AHL Phantoms will play now, but it is rumored that they will begin in Atlantic City.
Home of the Flyers for their first 30-some years is razed for a new hotel.
Woo-hoo, I can not wait .....
Meanwhile, the Flyers and Sixers play at the new Wachovia Center parking lot across from the historic and running out of spectrum.
(Farewell my old friend)
Spectrum is demolished, not the center, to make way for "Philly Live" which is a large complex that has a hotel (s), shops and restaurants.
