Vestarthe heart problem my grandfather.a

Hello. My grandfather is 93 years old. In a recent trip to China, he complained of shortness of breath and experienced fainting. After some tests, doctors have said that the aortic valve in his heart is almost blocked (0.4 cm ^ 2) while a healthy adult is approximately (6 cm ^ 2). Taking into consideration that he is diabetic and advancing age, the doctors said there was nothing we could do except wait for his fate .. Is this truea Please help me and my grandfather. The opinions and suggestions will be of great help to us. Thank you very much.

Here is his 2-D COLOR DOPPLER ECHOCARDIOGRAM REPORT Date: May 28, 2009:

INTERPRETATION:
Normal left ventricular cavity size with hypertrophied walls, adequate systolic thickening left. Dilated left atrium, slightly dilated right atrium and right ventricle of normal size in weight. Thickened aortic valve with calcifications in their room and with a restriction of movement. Thickened anterior leaflet of the mitral valve without any restriction of movement. Structurally normal tricuspid valve and pulmonary valve calcified mitral and aortic rings. normal dimensions of the aortic root with intimal thickening, normal pulmonary artery dimensions. dilated ascending aorta (39 mm). No evidence of thrombus, no pericardial effusion.

Doppler color flow study:
Aortic stenosis, with severe aortic valve area (0.4 cm ^ 2) by the continuity equation with a peak gradient of 137 mmHg and mean gradient of 71 mmHg. Mosaic color Doppler across the mitral valve, aortic valve, tricuspid valve and pulmonary valve. velocity profile Pseudonormal indicative of left ventricular dysfunction respect. pulmonary arterial pressure of 64 mmHg TR JET.

CONCLUSION:
Calcific aortic stenosis with severe aortic insufficiency, multiple 1 + mitral regurgitation with severe mitral regurgitation severe tricuspid. Concentric left ventricular hypertrophy with segmental systolic function properly and comprehensive Phase II diastolic dysfunction. Dilated left atrium, slightly dilated right atrium, aortic atherosclerosis, Dilated ascending aorta, pulmonary arterial hypertension with moderate pulmonary regurgitation.

So here he is taking medication:. Imdur 30mg (isosorbide-5-mononitrate, Angiozem 30mg (Diltiazem HCL) 35mg Vestar (trimetazidine) Thank you very much.

I'm afraid there's not much can be done and given his age and the multitude of problems, it would not survive surgery. He is 93, it would be cruel to make him spend more treatment. Just enjoy the time you have left with him. I'm sorry I could not say something more positive.
Best wishes

Because your grandfather is old enough at 93 years, they probably do not want to do surgery on her heart. They could make a vaplupostaty balloon will expand its valve a little, but it will only delay the inevitable. Im sorry, but there is little they can do, because it is so old.

Your grandfather had a heart valve + hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Mosaic color Doppler across the mitral valve, aortic valve, tricuspid valve and pulmonary valve shows that all heart valves are tight. I do not think he can withstand even the minimally invasive cardiac surgery at this age.
Please note that I am not a medical professional.
