Unsold Hotel Rooms

I traveled and did travel quite extensively, most things normally reserved in advance, and through the Internet.
I do know that there are also special prices and special deals "takers" for the night ...
meaning that a room that remains unsold at night could be offered at a cheaper rate, simply fill it. what happened to me before, but of course that means you must take the risk to walk out hotels ... search a bit until you find one with a room available.
my question is ... Is this generally true in Irelanda (Belfast specifically) .. and would it be cheaper than booking via the Interneta

I'm here for a weekend and am not sure I'll need the hotel to all .. us why I am not convinced that I must book online ... but I will, if the foregoing is not to be true ..

I always had a cheaper rate at a hotel when I walk in about 18 hours and I'm standing at the counter booking money in my hand and ready to rent a room ... which, if they do rent ... they lose money on that day ... Usually, they give me a better rate than what I saw when looking for a room in the same hotel, but on the Internet.

If they do not give me a better rate, so I'll just return the car and into the street to the motel, neighbor and the person at the reception can even make a suggestion that the motels in the city chambers.

Never worked for me. I always used the rate of the Internet cheaper. When I was in Shanghai, I decided to stay an extra night, it cost me more because I did not book online.

Probably walk to the hotel at night you want the room would be more expensive because they assume that you are desperate and have salaries above the normal rate for a room.

The solution might be to book in advance, but dont tell you at the finish until you see how many rooms there "by chance" are.
