Southwest Harbor Maine

Alaska is the largest state in all fifty United States and consists of five regions. Southwest, South Central, the Inside Passage, the Interior and the North The southwestern part of the state land that stretches from volcanoes in the Katmai National Park.

A person can get a regular air service from Anchorage, the capital flight and the other as King Salmon, Naknek and which hosts two of the finest fishing lodges in Alaska.

Bristol Bay is another place where a landscape adventurous travel through. It is notably the largest source in the world of Red Salmon. Many visitors come to this part of the region to fish in summer, skiing in winter, and hosting cultural events year-round events. There are also plenty of wildlife to be found and admired.

The economic center of Bristol Bay Dillingham is who is best known for being the gateway to the famous Togiak National Wildlife Refuge and Walrus Island State Game Sanctuary.

The Aleutians East Borough is considered one of the most beautiful regions in the world with active volcanoes, miles of coastline and the wild landscape is some of the features. The Aleuts have lived in these regions since the Second Ice Age. Right past the top of the Alaska Peninsula, the islands begin their 1000 mile stretch to Asia. These islands are also home to many wildlife refuges. Tourists can reach the port of Unalaska or Dutch Harbor for a scheduled flight from Anchorage and there is also a popular method of taking the ferry to Kodiak Island. It is said that Dutch Harbor lead the nation in such quantities and values of fish caught.

Other attractions include the first examples of churches in Russia and many World War II military sites that host a network of bunkers and dug in bunkers that were built to train soldiers back then. Another claim to fame is that this part of the island was once the site of a battle between soldiers day nineteen Japanese and U.S. in 1943.
