Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort

Take your poles and your bibs! Storing skis and snowboards! Just as thrilling as Christmas itself is the ski season at Ober Gatlinburg. Vacation rentals begin to fill quickly when the snow begins to fall, because skiers know Tennessee is one of the best places to hit the slopes. From mid-December to early March, the Smoky Mountains appeal to couples and families who flock to this hotel very popular.

With average annual rainfall 35 "and 100% snowmaking capabilities, Ober Gatlinburg is always on. As you prepare for the day of fun, you can put your skis or lease of pro shop. More experienced skiers and boarders can choose from four intermediate slopes that progress in difficulty. Castle Run is 1,100 feet long with a drop of 163-foot vertical. Alpine Way has a runway of 2,600 feet and drop 279-foot vertical. Bear Run is steeper and more with a race of 3200 meters and a 393-foot drop. But Ober Chute tops all with the longest (4,400 feet) and a precipitous drop of 556 vertical feet!

For those who are not afraid, black diamond trails because of your driveway. Mogul Ridge is a challenging course (aptly named!) Filled with excitement. At only 300 feet long, one might suppose it would be a piece of cake. You'd be wrong! What it lacks in distance it makes more room for excitement. Mogul Ridge Castle Run links to give you a thrill a minute followed by an intermediate slope of 800 feet that takes you to the base.

The king of all, however, is Grizzly! The runway of 3,800 feet, extends forward. You want a crazy racea Take the elevator to the runway Ober Chute (near the top). Ober Chute run until it intertwines with Grizzly. Take on the Fall of 556-feet vertically and then slide down the mountain until Grizzly joins Castle Run. Like a roller coaster powerful, you'll want to mount it again and again.

Amusement park at Ober Gatlinburg
