The lake is a fully recreational lake for swimming, boating (gas or electric engines), sailing, kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing, water skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, etc. riparian lot owner must obtain Boat Docks allowed Alcoa / Yadkin, Inc to build a dock. During the summer months, guests can participate in various fishing tournaments since the lake abounds with many species of fish. Sunset Pointe is located just north of downtown Salisbury, on Crane Creek Area of High Rock Lake, on the quiet side of the lake. Sunset Pointe is located 5 miles off I-85, with Charlotte and Winston Salem just 45 minutes, and Greensboro an hour away.
