What is a good resort in Europe (ideally not France as it is too expensive) for a ski GROUPa Hello I'm supposed to be organizing a ski group for my friends this winter. Some are beginners and some of us are intermediaries. We're all on a budget! I think to avoid France because it can be costly. Does anyone have suggestions on a good place to go for a mixed group on the ability of a budgeta
Bulgaria is certainly very popular as a station group - and offers a very good price - especially when it is good to tell a group of size 6 or more. Try these links. However, France is not as expensive as you might think. There are a number of operators out there - I also included the Lonely Planet and Rough - good sources of information. The link for Lonely Planet is great!
Try www.ucpa.fr site, which represents the Union Centres de Plein Air, a French association for the sport.
They must have good rates of group vacation (and not only in France).
If you avoid the school holidays, skiing in France remains affordable.
Mühlbach (Salzburg) in Austria is great and cheap! Lodges travel expenses and a local free bus service that takes you on the slopes, and they offer loads of private lessons or in larger groups for all levels. Have fun! :)
