What can you tell me about weddings Gretna Greena Marry later this year, but on a really small budget. Can anyone give me their experiences Gretna Green as we plan to go to save money on the guest list, etc.
Gretna Green was used instead of run away youth for marrying without their parents' permission before they are eighteen, the ceremony took place on the anvil by the local blacksmith local.
The ceremony is now performed by the officer of the state usually in a place licensed for the ceremony, it has become very tourist oriented and is not a cheapie more.
If you are interested in the history of Gretna Green weddings until the present date, visit this site, it became popular in 1754!

There are many organizers on the web, it's cheaper than I found.

.
The only thing I know is that where the couple ran away when they had no marriage license or have not been able to get a priest to marry in their city.
I am married to the local registry office, cheap rings, dress ebay, etc etc all in all, we spent 300, everyone gave us money as a gift and we ended with 350, 50 profit and therefore lol we just went out for a meal we then, why should you pay for dinner take 2 families for your weddingaa
Gretna's romantic perception
The age of marriage in England was 18
and Scotland, he was 16
(Encore)
and so couple fled just across the border into Scotland to get married there when they could not in England
yes you have the blacksmith, etc.
but in reality
Today it is a commercial carpet,
a bride in another on
its very touristy now well
if you can see beyond this and its great but its not for me
its people in a hurry, you see the marriage before and after yours,
married is like a convention
** EDIT ** to Ms G
Gretna ISN'T Vegas of England
simple reason
It isn't IN ENGLAND
The Vegas of England. Usually considered a joke by people in the United Kingdom. My fiance and I have discussed getting married in Gretna Green Comlogdon Castle where we thought my parents werent going to pay for the wedding .. God thank you, too bc they decided once I heard about their reputation (I'm from the United States) I was sooo glad I didn't do it!
Dont do it. Its cheap and tacky!
ps my fiance's name is too graham:)
isn't that where children and paedos get marrieda
