Coleman Fuel

Coleman FuelWho still uses a Coleman catalytic heating fuel for campinga

T we still use a Coleman catalytic heater that burns Coleman liquid fuel (not propane) for campinga Do you use it in a tenta What is the breakdown you provide in the tenta I am a bit worried about carbon monoxide if I use it in the tent.

Do not use this in a tent unless you have all the vents open to tent. They are not very efficient heating devices in very cold weather in a tent. I have heard of several people who lost their lives by using these types of heaters in tents without adequate ventilation.

What I did in the past has bought a gas powered generator and I used quartz radiators when I was camping in the mountains in the snow and subzero temperatures.

These days I use a battery i removed from a bulldozer and quartz heaters use. really good for 2-3 days, then I just connect the cables to the battery of my truck and start recharging the battery great for about 30 minutes every 2 or 3 working days.

EDIT: Wait, I thought you were talking about the liquid fuel stoves Coleman thingies.

Ignore what I said.

bad idea to have open flames (or flame seal) in a tent, especially if you sleep and you can reverse it.

it's a no no
thingies use the heat to your hands and get a good sleeping bag rated lower than 0
