In addition, we do not need a 5 star hotel, but would like to stay in a pleasant, suggestionsa

We do not intend to rent a car (just thought I'd add that here lol)

Is Amsterdam (Netherlands) accept credit cards in the United States, and if so ... wherea

I went during the first week of April and enjoyed it very much! I stayed in a hotel located in the most beautiful canal in Amsterdam for 61 Euros per night. Please check Chic and Basic Hotels. Make sure you take advantage of their promotions. When I arrived, I went directly to the ATM to withdraw money in the budget for me for my last trip. Try not to withdraw too often, because there is a charge for this. Ask the cashier to break your money in small denominations. I know they accept U.S. Visa / Mastercard check cards in most hotels, restaurants and museums, but not on the train ticket machines. In addition, every transaction you make incur a conversion fee of approximately 3% of the purchase amount plus the current exchange rate. Try to get some euro traded at home if you can.

I recommend you stay at least 4 nights and venture outside of Amsterdam. Many places are accessible by train anyway. Amsterdam itself is very small and you'd better ride a bike, take the tram or on foot. You can visit Utrecht, Haarlem, Volendam, Marken, Gouda, Edam, Den Haag, Arnhem and a bunch of other small cities in the Netherlands. I fell in love with the countryside was, really. I think it's just beautiful. I am grateful to have parents who live in the countryside to show me around. There are guided bus that takes you through the Dutch countryside. Viator.com departure for visits. You can also venture out to Belgium for a day trip. I heard that Bruges is nice.

For sightseeing, I highly recommend the neck of the Netherlands (www.hollandpass.com) and get a strippenkaart for transport bus / tram (about € 8 I think) as opposed to the card IAmsterdam. For $ 36 I paid, I got to visit the Van Gogh Museum, go on a canal cruise, visit the House of Bols Genever experience with a free cocktail and go to the Houseboatmuseum. I always had a good not used that I can use for my next visit. He also offered discounts to some places. There is also a free tour (advice only accepted) called Sandeman's New Europe Tours and they walk through the city with some free comments.

Food can be expensive. You may be able to buy some food at Albert Heijn (equivalent to Safeway). There's this restaurant called The Place, which is like a cafeteria and moderately priced.

I did not even see everything while I was there, so I'll go back hopefully in less than 1 year. Too bad you guys will not get to see the tulips are in bloom in April-May, but you can still see the windmills (Zaanse Schans, Kinderdijk). There are many guides available on the net and I found Fodors.com forums were helpful to many of my questions. Certainly do a lot of research before you go. Get a good guide. Study maps and know where to get help. Always carry small change from the bathrooms have a duty, to bring comfortable shoes because most sidewalks are paved and be sure to try all the specialties Dutch (stroopwafel, poffertjes, Indonesian cuisine, etc.)

I hope you enjoy your visit to Newfoundland. As I did. Try to learn more about their culture too. It's quite fascinating.

Groetjes:)

go see the Anne Frank House, museums are fantastic, the food is excellent. see cut diamond cheese factories, and take a boat.
